1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly: account details (email, name), voice recordings when you use voice input, text memories and notes you create, and people/relationships you add. We also automatically collect usage data such as pages visited, feature usage, and basic device information to improve our service.
2. Voice Recording & Audio Data
When you use voice input, your audio is temporarily processed to convert speech to text. Audio recordings are sent to third-party speech-to-text services for transcription. We do not permanently store raw audio files; only the transcribed text is saved to your account. You can delete your transcribed memories at any time.
3. AI Processing & Third-Party AI Providers
MyKioku uses Artificial Intelligence to enhance your experience (categorizing memories, generating insights, etc.). Your text data may be sent to third-party AI providers (such as Google AI, Groq, or similar services) for processing. We do not share your personal identity with these providers. AI-generated content is not guaranteed to be accurate.
4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secure servers provided by Supabase (our database provider). We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services: Google OAuth for authentication, Polar for payment processing, OneSignal for push notifications, and Supabase for data storage. Each of these services has their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.
6. Cookies & Local Storage
We use browser local storage to save your theme preferences (light/dark mode) and session authentication tokens. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising purposes. Essential cookies may be used for authentication and security.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to: access your personal data, request correction of inaccurate data, request deletion of your data, export your data in a portable format. To exercise these rights, contact us using the information below. We will respond to requests within 30 days.
8. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or security purposes. Anonymous or aggregated data may be retained for analytics.
9. Children's Privacy
MyKioku is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us to have it removed.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the 'Last Updated' date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
